About Me

Hi, my name is Rebecca.

I’m a mum of two living in the UK and a registered nurse working in the Emergency Department (ED). I’ve been in the healthcare industry for 13 years, and my journey into nursing wasn’t a straightforward one.

Healthcare wasn’t my first calling, but over time, my passion for helping and supporting others grew stronger. I started my career as a carer, moved on to become a healthcare assistant, and eventually made the decision to qualify as a registered nurse. Today, I’m proud to work as a sister in one of the busiest departments in the hospital.

No two days are ever the same in the ED. The fast-paced, high-pressure environment presents constant challenges, but I thrive in it. Every shift brings a mix of positive and negative experiences, each one teaching me something new and adding to my knowledge and resilience.

The Nurse Vitals is a blog that is my small space to share that journey — the realities, the highs and lows, and everything in between. Whether you’re a fellow healthcare professional or someone curious about life behind the scenes in the NHS, I hope my stories offer insight, connection, and perhaps even inspiration.
